Three NeurotechEU Projects with Boğaziçi University Participation

Boğaziçi University is involved in three of the ten projects selected for support under the NeurotechEU Collaboration Funding Call, with faculty members from the university coordinating one project and joining two others as co-applicants.

• Harmonized Quantitative MRI: Integrating BIDS for Multiparametric Mapping Across Species

This project is coordinated by Pınar Senay Özbay from Boğaziçi University, in collaboration with J.P. (José) Marques from Radboud University. The project will develop open-access resources and interactive tools for quantitative MRI analysis, providing students with hands-on experience in reproducible neuroimaging workflows and data standardization.

• Advancements in Experimental Microsurgery

Arzu Çelik is one of the co-applicants in this blended intensive program (BIP), coordinated by Ioan Ștefan Florian from Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie din Cluj-Napoca with co-applicant Abishek Arora from Karolinska Institutet. The program offers practical training in advanced microsurgical techniques, connecting neuroscience, surgery, and translational research.

• Fundamentals of Bioengineering Brain Organoids

Arzu Çelik is one of the co-applicants in this two-week program, coordinated by Abishek Arora from Karolinska Institutet with co-applicants Juana Gallar from Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche and Stefan Strilciuc from Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie din Cluj-Napoca. Participants will work in interdisciplinary teams while developing skills in stem cells, organoid culture, imaging, and neurotechnology.

Combining expertise across institutions and disciplines, the projects advance both a more connected European campus and progress on key questions in neuroscience, health, and technology.
