Ten Projects Receive Support under the NeurotechEU Collaboration Funding Call

Ten joint projects from across the NeurotechEU alliance have been selected for support under the NeurotechEU Collaboration Funding Call.

The call, opened in March 2026, invited academics, educators and professional staff from partner institutions to propose initiatives that advance the alliance's mission of reshaping higher education in brain research and neurotechnology. Proposals were assessed on educational quality, interdisciplinary reach, mobility, and the prospect of becoming lasting parts of the alliance's teaching portfolio. Ten projects were selected for their broad, interdisciplinary approach to education. Together, the projects will produce new courses, training programs, and shared educational resources, drawing on complementary expertise from different institutions and disciplines. They will strengthen teaching in neurotechnology across areas such as neuroimaging, sleep technology, addiction research, brain organoids, microsurgery, healthy ageing, digital learning environments, and support for carers of people living with neurodegenerative diseases.

  • Neurokraken 3D: Challenge-Based Learning inside the Digital Labby Medical University of Innsbruck in collaboration with Radboud University
  • Smart Sleep: Exploring the Future of Sleep Measurements by Karolinska Institutet, Medical University of Innsbruck, Radboud University and Reykjavik University, with industry partner Nox Medical
  • Pharmacological and Molecular Fundaments of Tolerance and Addictionby Karolinska Institutet and Medical University of Innsbruck
  • Harmonized Quantitative MRI: Integrating BIDS for Multiparametric Mapping Across Species by Boğaziçi University and Radboud University
  • Advancements in Experimental Microsurgery by Universitatea de Medicină și Farmacie din Cluj-Napoca, Karolinska Institutet and Boğaziçi University
  • Fundamentals of Bioengineering Brain Organoids by Karolinska Institutet with Boğaziçi University, Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche and Cluj-Napoca
  • Innovative Pilot Training in a Positive Approach of Neurogerontology, Targeting Participants Aged 55+by University of Lille and Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche
  • MoveLab: Motion Capture Analysis of Pathological Gait in Ataxia by  University of Bonn, Radboud University, Medical University of Innsbruck and Reykjavik University
  • NeuroCarers: Challenge-Based Learning Materials on Neurodegenerative Diseases, Carers Burden, and Neurotechnologies by Cluj-Napoca and Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche
  • Methods in Neuroscience by Radboud University, extending an established master's course to Reykjavík University, University of Bonn and University of Lille
