Activities
Thanks to Dana Foundation, we, the Synapse students of Boğaziçi University, are pleased to announce a series of events for Brain Awareness Week in Istanbul. These initiatives aim to promote awareness of neurobiology and neurotechnology across three educational levels: preschool, high school, and university.
Preschool:
At Mehmet Tabanca Preschool, we will introduce young children to the fundamental concepts of neurobiology. Through interactive activities and model organisms, we will demonstrate the existence and basic functions of the brain in an engaging and accessible manner.
High School:
For Saint Benoít high school students, we will provide insights into potential career paths in neurobiology and neurotechnology. The program includes career planning sessions, the distribution of informational brochures, and a seminar on neurodiversity to promote social awareness. Additionally, we will organize a hands-on workshop and competitive activities with awards to enhance engagement.
University:
At the university level, we will bring together professors to foster academic discussions and seminars on key topics in neuroscience. Furthermore, in collaboration with Flylab, Prof. Arzu Çelik Fuss we will conduct a practical workshop on neuron imaging, providing participants with direct exposure to advanced research techniques.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dana Foundation for their support and grant in making these events possible. As the Boğaziçi Synapse team being a part of NeurotechEU, we are committed to advancing knowledge and enthusiasm for neuroscience across all educational levels.

The first Synapse meeting of the semester was successfully held at Boğaziçi University. The event began with a meet-and-greet gathering, bringing students together in a friendly atmosphere.
Participants had the opportunity to get to know each other while learning in detail about NeurotechEU (NTEU), its position within the European University Alliance, and the opportunities it offers. The team answered questions from the attendees, providing specific details on mobility programs, certificates, upcoming events, and project opportunities.
In the second part of the meeting, the group planned the semester's schedule, discussing future trainings, events, and ideas to support the growth of the Synapse community.
Everyone is invited to all upcoming events this semester. You can easily join the community by using the link provided in the poster below.
