11th NeurotechEU General Assembly and Neuroinnovation Summit Hosted by Karolinska Institutet

The NeurotechEU alliance held the 11th General Assembly of the European University of Brain and Technology and Neuroinnovation Summit in Stockholm, hosted by Karolinska Institutet (KI).

The event focused on the theme “Next Generation – Skills, Talent, Careers & Innovation”, exploring how emerging technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration are shaping the future of neuroscience and neurotechnology. Bringing together academic leaders, researchers, and students from alliance partners, this event served as a platform for collaborative discussions, strategic planning, and knowledge exchange, alongside keynote sessions and training.

The program featured parallel sessions for participants:

  • Researchers attended symposium sessions focused on advanced scientific topics,
  • Students participated in hands-on training activities through the FAIR Brain Data Science Bootcamp 2026,
  • NeurotechEU General Assembly members held meetings dedicated to future strategies, collaboration, and the development of shared frameworks for international education and research.

The event also included a NeurotechEU Student Council meeting focused on strengthening student involvement and on discussing future strategies to maintain active student representation during the 2nd phase.

During the assembly, the alliance officially celebrated the inclusion of Western University (Canada) as the first non European global partner, highlighting an important step toward expanding international collaboration in neurotechnology education, research, and student development. Bringing together expertise from fields such as neuroscience, engineering, artificial intelligence, social sciences, and the humanities, the alliance continues to foster a multidisciplinary environment that encourages innovation and cross-disciplinary cooperation.

One of the highlights of the event was the official launch of the Museum of Brain and Technology, an innovative digital platform created to discover the connections between the brain, science, technology, and society. The museum also features contributions from three laboratories at Boğaziçi University: MADE in NTSP, BIND Lab, and Fly Lab. You can explore the Museum of Brain and Technology by clicking here.
