Internship Experience
PROCEDURE
- 1 Application: Students apply by filling out the form available on the NeurotechEU Boğaziçi University website before the deadline.
- 2 Review: Upon completion of the application period, Boğaziçi University prepares a summary report and shares the applications with the relevant Principal Investigators.
- 3 Selection: Principal Investigators make their selections based on the applicant's profile and expertise, and notify the Boğaziçi University correspondent of the results.
- 4 Notification: Boğaziçi University notifies candidates of the evaluation results via e-mail. Selected interns are invited to coordinate with the Principal Investigator and their home institution to finalize the specific arrangements.
- 5 Support & Insurance: Students are subject to the regulations of primarily their own universities, including possible financial support and insurance. So, they will have to first consult the relevant offices to find out about procedures in place (See also FAQ below).
- 6 Working Hours: 9:00-17:00
- 7 Inform Your PI: about (1) the dates of your internship (based on availability) and (2) possible need for an invitation letter for e.g., visa.

Biofunctional Nanomaterials Design Laboratory - BiND Lab
BIND Laboratory has been founded by Assoc. Prof. Banu İyisan at Biomedical Engineering Institute of Bogazici University in 2021 and conducts research in the field of smart, bio-relevant nanocarriers. BIND Lab is the Max Planck Partner Group in Bogazici University, Turkey starting from June, 2023 for the following 5 years. Our multidisciplinary research interests include the design, fabrication and characterization of versatile nanocarrier systems such as polymeric nanocapsules, nanospheres, magnetic nanoparticles, gold nanorods, polymer/lipid hybrid nanoparticles to overcome challenges in biomedical applications. Our main goal is to use these nanomaterials to develop multimodal systems that have several functions in one pot for use in controlled and targeted drug delivery systems, imaging and diagnostic applications. BIND Lab team utilizes a variety of inputs from nanobiotechnology, polymers, colloids, biomaterials, life sciences and engineering approaches to realize such studies that require a highly interdisciplinary working platform.

Computational Imaging Laboratory
Computational Imaging Laboratory at Biomedical Engineering Institute at Boğaziçi University was founded in 2014. The main aim of the current and future projects is to develop novel molecular magnetic resonance (MR) imaging techniques to allow for a better understanding of the underlying biochemistry of diseases. The technical projects at the Computational Imaging Laboratory focus on designing new algorithms for molecular MR imaging data acquisition, post-processing and quantitation, as well as biostatistical analysis. The laboratory also works on developing computational methods for image analysis for understanding disease mechanisms. The main focus of technical projects is developing novel quantitative molecular MR imaging methodologies for fast and accurate data acquisition and processing. It is intended to translate all the projects developed at the laboratory into the clinics in collaboration with the clinical investigators in order to improve patient health.
